Andrew Shoben
Andrew Shoben founded Greyworld in Paris in 1993. Their goal is to create works that articulate public spaces, allowing some form of creative self expression in areas of cities that people see every day, but normally exclude and ignore.
Greyworld have exhibited their work both permanently and temporarily around the world including Railings (1997) at the Royal Society of British Sculptors; Playground (1999) a permanent work for the Yorkshire Sculpture Park; Elektra (1999), a Norwegian National Monument; and Stairway (2000) for Sonic Boom, at the Hayward Gallery.
In 2002, Greyworld created several permanent works in London, New York and Chicago. They have permanent installations in many locations around the world including the UK, Germany, Ireland and the US and won a prestigious award from the Royal Society of Architecture for their permanent Bus Stops installations in Bradford, UK.
Shoben also lectures at the Royal College of Art on the Reactive Spaces platform and is a visiting lecturer to Coventry University, Sheffield Hallam University and Leeds University.
