South African designer Heath Nash, ceramicist Andile Dyalvane and crafters I Felt Like It all exhibited at the Misael Gallery in Redream Paradise. The exhibition brought together designers from across the globe who “re-educate the human heart to effortlessly coexist with nature”. Nash launched his widely acclaimed Bottleformball. The recycled chandelier is crafted from salvaged PET bottles attached to a handmade wire structure. Website: www.misael.eu

Every month about 500 companies in the Netherlands go bankrupt. Over the past year, Droog accumulated 5 135 items on the liquidation auctions – 1 water cooler, 1 dining table, 2 bar stools, 4 metal trays, 6 wooden trays, 8 mirrors, 10 small bowl sets, 11 cups, 14 dog baskets, 20 dish towels, 40 glass vases, 50 safety vests, 60 sets of cutlery, 80 folding chairs, 90 flower pots, 100 candy pots, 102 wooden spoons, 168 plates of glass, 200 saltshakers, 448 wallets, 500 matchboxes, 720 cola glasses and 2 500 handkerchiefs. Fourteen designers were invited to re-interpret these materials, which resulted in a new collection of 19 products. Outcomes range from Marian Bantjes's Read Before You Eat Table to Ed Ennink's Fun-for-Dogs Trolleys. Those objects not selected by any designers were given a uniform blue treatment in 100 Blue Containers by Droog. Website: www.droog.com

The Italian-based design group Vicolo Paglia Corta lives up to its motto “from something is born something”. Scavenging 10 000 keys from discarded Apple laptops, the group turned them into 25 tile mosaics with 380 keys each. The tiles are grouped according to symbols, letters and numbers. The small oak wood stools can also be used as tables. Website: www.vicolopagliacorta.it

Cuisine d'Objets by 5.5 designers is a series of DIY design recipes for people to make at home. For instance, the ingredients for the lighting concept are household items such as a coffee pot, Tupperware or other container for the base; cement; a branch or long, sturdy stick; and a clip-on spotlight. There are also recipes for a stool, and book and coat racks. Website: www.cinqcinqdesigners.com
