While many buy condoms and only see them for the function they serve, this fraction of rubber has a great deal of history behind it. The Museum of Se(x) in New York, in partnership with the makers of the US’s number-one condom, Trojan Brand, have put together an exhibition documenting the history of this small object and the monumental impact it has had on society. The exhibition, titled Rubbers: The Life, History and Struggle of the Condom, takes a “fun, functional and fundamental look at the history and progression of the condom from a single object to its role as a multidisciplinary artefact”.
