From the Series
Taking its name from Malus Domestica, the Latin word for eating apple, Malus spirits embody refined luxury with a touch of something wicked.
Malus spirits introduces a new tradition in South African spirits and can be experienced at the South African Luxury Association’s stand at Design Indaba Expo 2011 where the Malus terroir spirit 2009 vintage will be on sale. Or for an even more bespoke purchase, add an exclusive decanter to the mix.
This unique hand-blown decanter by David Reade is packaged in a container designed by local furniture designer Aidan Bennetts. Such a purchase would be accompanied by an illustrated coffee table book, telling the Malus story from apple tree to tumbler.
Working to create something extraordinary, Malus takes the best of handcrafted spirits and combines it with the concept of terroir while capturing the beautiful essence of the Elgin Valley. The project of the Elgin Distilling Company, Malus is rested in fine grained oak barrels to create its smooth taste.
The hallmarks of Malus includes simplicity, purity, quality and honestly without pretending to be something that it is not. It’s the taste and rarity which makes Malus a luxury product.
See Malus at Design Indaba Expo from 25 to 27 February 2011.
