From the Series
For Yves Béhar design is a generous endeavour, aimed at giving people something. Speaking at the 2012 London Design Festival, he says that the first step to good design is focusing on the person receiving the experience.
Béhar talks about the One Laptop Per Child project and building digital experiences – combining bits (in the software) with atoms (in hardware).
He also discusses the rebranding of SodaStream and the values they were trying to communicate with this 100-year-old brand, such as sustainability and pleasure. These values inform the design of the bottle, both in terms of the user experience and the aesthetics.
