As the co-founders of Dutch spatial design firm Van Eijk & Van Der Lubbe, creative duo Miriam van der Lubbe and Niels van Eijk are constantly tasked with reimagining the mundane. In this interview, the two talk through some of their most renowned projects. From the exhibition Ceramix, which presented works from great crafters on bespoke pedestals, to Smart Deco, a commissioned work that produced a table made of American walnut with a carving of an Indonesian fairytale of a frog that turns into a prince, their work transcends the norm by looking at the broader purpose of design.
