Taking over our Instagram account as the second guest poster this week was accessory designer extraordinaire Katherine-Mary Pichulik. We knew we were in for a lavish look at an eclectic array of tactile beauty, such is her roaming and attuned eye.
Pichulik also took us behind the scenes as she prepared for the launch of her AW2015 collection last Friday. Her bold new collection, “Pietra Terra”, is inspired by Italy.
In the short time since her sculptural rope necklaces made their appearance, her distinctive designs have garnered a huge following. She sold out her stock as an Emerging Creative at Design Indaba Expo 2013, has collaborated with international fashion designers and was a finalist in the Vogue Italia Scouting for Africa project, which another local – Laduma Ngxokolo – ultimately won.
