Designs in sawdust

Collect sawdust, add resin, press into mould and voila - you have very interesting furnture pieces, as Yoav Avinoam discovered.

Israeli designer Yoav Avinoam’s “Shavings” collection of stools and tables use recycled sawdust to create furniture with unconventional visual appeal.

Avinoam combines the sawdust with resin and then moulds it into simple shapes, resulting in an interesting resemblance to soil.

With the aim to turn a waste product into desirable design, Avinoam uses the sawdust from different types of wood to create the desired effect.
