Drawing from the collections of Chanel, Dior, Comme des Garcons, Poirer, Lacroix, McQueen and Viktor & Rolf, Drawing Fashion celebrates the fashion Illustrations of the 20th and 21st century.
The exhibition, which is on at the Design Museum in London from 3 November 2010 to 6 March 2011, reflects the spirit and style of the decades while also reminiscing about the elegance and glamour associated with high-end fashion and couture. Drawing Fashion charts the changing perception of fashion drawings, from its origins as an advertising tool to the way in which its used today in the collections of big designers.
The drawings in the various collections work to give the exhibition a sense of emotion and stylistic direction, while also celebrating unique creative skills and the fashion spirit of the time.
