At Art Basel Paris 2024, Frank Gehry's work will be showcased in a unique presentation that delves into his iconic vision of movement whilst paying homage to the designer’s longstanding collaboration with the fashion house.
A central feature of the booth will be a 4.5-meter-long fish sculpture synonymous with Gehry’s designs. The sculpture will be suspended in a custom-built wooden structure, reflecting Gehry's long-standing fascination with the form, fluidity and movement of the fish which has been a source of architectural inspiration for the legendary designer.
The presentation also includes architectural models and drawings of Gehry’s projects with the brand over the years such as the designs for Fondation Louis Vuitton in Paris and the Louis Vuitton Maison Seoul. The booth also includes items from Gehry's collaboration with Louis Vuitton, including pieces from their limited-edition handbag collection that mirror his architectural aesthetic. Gehry’s work, from buildings to fashion items, is consistently about eliciting emotion through innovative material use and sculptural movement.
The exhibit at Art Basel Paris captures Gehry’s iterative creative process, blending architecture, design, and fashion into a seamless experience.
