It can, and at the 2011 Design Indaba Conference you can learn more about the work of designers and thought-leaders that are working to set this revolution in motion.

Early bird bookings have closed with record-breaking sales, but you can still book your seat for South Africa’s foremost creative event, Design Indaba. Taking place at the Cape Town International Convention Centre between 23 and 25 February 2011, a star-studded line-up of speakers from across the globe will inspire, indulge and interact with delegates. Come and be convinced, or otherwise reminded, why a creative economy lies at the heart of a sustainable world.

Following on six consecutive, sold-out years, the 2011 Design Indaba Conference will once again inspire the creative, corporate and educational sectors. A top-notch selection of speakers can be expected, including Google Creative Lab director Robert Wong, urban mobility revolutionary Jens Martin Skibsted, maverick typographer Oded Ezer and multimedia maestro Karin Fong.

For students and designers under the age of 25, there’s also the Young Designers Simulcast. This live video stream of the conference proceedings will now be live in both Cape Town and Johannesburg.

A Design Indaba Conference or simulcast pass will also ensure your unlimited access to Design Indaba Expo following on the conference, from 25 to 27 February 2011. Showcasing the very best in bespoke, high-quality South African design, the Expo at the Cape Town International Convention Centre is the premier destination for homegrown innovation and creativity, boasting some 35 000 visitors and 280 exhibitors in 2010.

With every creative discipline from product design to broadcasting, fashion design, new media, industrial design, advertising, architecture, jewellery design and everything in between represented at Design Indaba, it really is your annual creative pit stop.

Design Indaba magazine will be celebrating its milestone 10th birthday in 2011. The conference edition of the magazine will be available during the Design Indaba and feature design highlights from the past decade, designers interviewing designers and the creative produce that defined the noughties.
