In the Japanese language the term “rinkak” refers to the outline of an object against its background.
Nendo’s latest design, a computer mouse for Japanese company Elecom, draws inspiration from this “rinkak” concept.
Also called Rinkak, Nendo's mouse design sees the mouse cable, that snakes out from the computer, becoming the rinkak of the mouse. Nendo compares it to a quickly sketched freehand drawing.
Ultimately the mouse becomes the background while the cable, which up until this point was a “supporting actor”, takes to the main stage.
Rinkak will be available in Japan at the end June while it is expected to hit the international market shortly thereafter.
