International influence

The Tramshed Event is hoping to add some international flair to the London Design Festival through a collaborative show.

Using a post-industrial venue in east London as backdrop, the Tramshed Event will add an international edge to the London Design Festival between 22 and 26 September 2010.

This new edition to the festival is a collaborative event by De La Espada, Deborah Spencer and Alice Breed and will feature 25 international design brands.

As a hub for collective creative brands the event will showcase the work of, among others: Benchmark, Studioilse, Another Country, Kvadrat, Booci and Decode.

Running parallel to the event is Tramshed Live, a series of thought-provoking debates and discussions, curated by Aidan Walker. One of the highlights of this event is set to be the “Can design make us more human?” where Ilse Crawford and a panel of practitioners will explore what it means to “design with humanity”. Another discussion which is sure to draw crowds is “Luxury, necessity, sustainability – and a very unusual car”.
