With contemporary flair

In case you missed it, here's a look at the gorgeous designs Haldane Martin launched at Design Indaba Expo.

Renowned South African furniture designer Haldane Martin launched two new designs at Design Indaba Expo recently.

The Zulu Mama Stool is a new product that builds on the unique South African plastic weaving techniques that Martin developed with local weavers for his iconic Zulu Mama Café Chair. Made from powder-coated, 60% recycled, rust-proof stainless steel, these three-legged stools are available in various heights (450mm, 620mm and 820mm). The Zulu Mama Stool also uses hand-woven, UV-stable, recycled polypropylene plastic.

The Globe Table was Martin’s other new design, introduced at Design Indaba Expo. It came into being after Martin was approached by an interior design store to create a table that would complement the re-edition Globe Chair they designed in 2010.

Martin and his team had a re-look at the simple kitchen table in contemporary finishes with knockdown fittings. Formica laminated plywood top and apron with elegantly proportioned beech legs. The Globe Table is available in standard sizes 800 x 800mm, 800 x 1600mm, 800 x 2200mm, 800 x 2600mm.
