Another step for Google

Google is exploring new frontiers with their venture into the computer hardware arena.

Google has recently announced its first foray into the world of computer hardware.

They are planning to launch the CR-48 chrome notebook to support the browser-based Chrome operating system. The notebook comes in matte black and will run on an atom processor with a 12-inch display and full-size keyboard.

The device, which is only due for launch at the end of 2011, is set to weigh about 1.7kgs and last eights hours on a single battery.

The software  will be based on a cloud system that will run entirely on flash drives, enabling users to work and store all information remotely.

Google is running a pilot programme on the device. It will be sent to interested parties who, in turn, must provide Google with relevant feedback
