Aaron Koblin: Open-sourcing as a toolkit

Aaron Koblin talks about creating music videos for the web and other experimental and playful projects with Google.

For Aaron Koblin (The Wilderness Downtown, The Johnny Cash Project) creativity is about making something that is bigger than the sum of its parts. In an interview at Design Indaba 2012 Koblin talks about open-sourcing as a toolkit for making fun and exciting things.

Creativity is about making something that is bigger than the sum of the parts, says Koblin.

Koblin talks about the huge potential that technology creates, creating a platform to do new things in new ways, doing things that we haven't even thought of. Now that computers are becoming available to people who previously couldn't afford them, tools are being made for different activities and for different types of minds, says Koblin.

The vastness of it creates a platform for which we can really create some amazing things, says Koblin.
