Design Indaba Film Crew 2011

Design Indaba has gathered six creative filmmakers to capture all the happenings at the Design Indaba 2011.

Alasdair McCulloch


Alasdair McCulloch is an editor, director of photography and visual effects artist. He has directed music videos for MK89 and was nominated for a Vuka Award in 2009.

Jolynn

Jolynn Minnaar

Jolynn Minnaar is an AFDA and UCT film media production graduate. She works as a digital image technician and as a director of photography assistant, making videos for local bands Locnville and Jax Panik.

Marius

Marius van der Merwe

Marius van der Merwe specialises in sport and car shoots. He is the owner of FilmStudio and has a Master’s degree in engineering.

Rio

Rio Allen

Rio Allen is an AFDA graduate and writer and director for CAB Films. In 2007 Allen had two entries in the top 10 selection of the Vuka Awards and in 2009 his film “Service Pistol” was nominated as best film in the South African Film and Television Awards. Allen also has a strong online presence on his blog, at thefilmo.com.

Stacey

Stacey Howell

Stacey Howell   is an AFDA graduate. Her film The Tupperware Party was nominated as a Best Student Film in the South African Film and Television Awards. Howell and Meredith Shearer-Aylward recently formed a production company and hope to improve the local music video industry.

Yvette

Yvette Lambrecht
Yvette Lambrecht  is the director of Substance Films, a production company that specialises in socially relevant media.  Lambrecht produces and directs video for the web, television, documentary and educational use. In 2010 Lambrecht produced and directing her first independent documentary Dying To Stop.
