Professor Shin-ichi Takemura from Japan is a media producer known for his numerous cutting-edge IT-driven social activities, along with advocating his incisive views as an anthropologist.

He has authored a number of books, including Cosmic Tree, Grand Design for the 22nd Century, and been involved with planning and promoting numerous Earth-age projects. These include Sensorium for which he won the 1997 Gold Ars Electronica Nica Award, and Tangible Earth that was the 2005 Gold Winner of the Good Design Award, Japan. Takemura is a director of the Earth College and currently teaches at Kyoto University of Art and Design in Japan.
