From the Series

In continuation of revealing delicate Japanese craftsmanship and attention to detail, Naoto Fukasawa unveiled an extended Maruni collection at this year’s Milan Furniture Fair.

Award-winning Japanese industrial designer Naoto Fukasawa has extended his Maruni collection of wooden furniture to include a folding chair. The “Hiroshima” folding chair is simplistic in design yet elegant and adaptable to various environments. Made from solid wood, the folding chair is available in beech or oak wood.

Fukasawa presented the “Hiroshima” folding chair alongside previous designs including the “Malta” table as well as the “Asian” bench and stool.

The “Malta” table reveals a refined aesthetic sense of Japanese craftsmanship, while the “Asian” bench and stool are reminiscent of traditional Asian furniture. Fukasawa introduced a new colour into his “Asian” collection, a deep rich brown, which further highlights the characteristics of Asian furniture.
