Posters in the park

Paula Scher has designed her 19th season campaign for Shakespeare in the Park.

Following a long line of poster designs for New York’s public theatre, this year sees the 19th season campaign designed by Paula Scher.

Since creating an identity for the public theatre in 1994, Paula Scher has continued her collaboration with Shakespeare in the Park to design a series of posters for The Comedy of Errors and Loves Labour Lost.

The concept behind this year’s image is all about errors, especially old printing technology, such as back typing errors and missed registrations.

The graphics are situated on signboards and greet theatregoers in Central Park. Other posters are situated around New York in places such as subways to invite and entice people to enjoy a play or musical in a relaxed environment.
