Function meets fantasy

Nostalgic, eco-conscious, beautiful and desirable. And the good news is that Casamento have opened a showroom.

Furniture design studio Casamento will now be a permanent fixture at the Old Biscuit Mill in Woodstock, Cape Town. At their showroom you can expect to see their uniquely hand-crafted furniture as well as work by other designers, including Porky Hefer, David Krynauw, Peddersen+Lennard and Frank Bohm.

“The space is intended to be more of a gallery than a décor shop,” says owner Eve Collett. Work from Whatiftheworld gallery and interesting emerging artists will also be on show at Casamento.

While “blurring the lines between fantasy and function”, Casamento want to introduce people to their brand of furniture that uses natural fibres and traditional techniques. They also want to announce that they manufacture from scratch now and not only refurbish old pieces.
