Inga Sempé’s new chair and table designs are both practical and charming.

Inga Sempé’s new Österlen chair and table for Swedish furniture manufacturer Gärsnäs will be presented at the Stockholm Furniture Fair that runs from 8 to 12 February 2011.

The indented surfaces along the back frame of the chair work to create a more comfortable backrest. These are repeated all along the chair; functional as a practical element to form the wood joint and serving as an aesthetic addition.

Inga Sempé

Product designer Inga Sempé graduated in 1993 from de I'ENSCI les Ateliers in Paris, France. While studying she received a scholarship at George Sowden's studio in Milan and after graduating went to work as a designer at Marc Newson's studio in Paris.
