Step into an art director’s shoes

Renowned creatives were asked to customise a pair of Toms Shoes as part of the Art Directors Club’s Designism 4.0 annual forum.


In conjunction with the Art Directors Club’s Designism 4.0 annual forum, renowned creatives and designers were asked to customise a pair of Toms Shoes. Louise Fili, Jessica Helfand, Ellen Lupton, John Maeda, Christoph Niemann, Scott Stowell and James Victore all participated. The shoes were auctioned off on eBay with proceeds benefiting the ADC Scholarship Fund.

Christoph Niemann

Christoph Niemann was born in Waiblingen, Germany, in 1970. After his studies at the Stuttgart Academy of Fine Arts, he moved to New York City, where he has been working as an illustrator, animator and graphic designer since 1997.

James Victore

James Victore is a self-taught, independent designer. Victore's work ranges from publishing, posters and advertising to illustration and animation. His clients include Moët & Chandon, Target, Amnesty International, the Lower East Side Tenement Museum and Portfolio Center.
