The Diptych exhibition at the Association of Arts Pretoria showed scraperboard visuals by Charlotte Janse van Vuuren and sculptures by Michaella Janse van Vuuren. Both embodying a level of structural fantasy, the former’s drawings engage with the betrayals, dashed hopes and disappointments that shape our lives; while the latter’s sculptures explore the mathematics of textures, shapes and patterns found in nature, and their reproduction through 3D manufacturing processes.
