Fairground furniture

Marcelo Rosenbaum's latest collection of furniture, Caruaru, is inspired by one of the oldest cultural fairs in Brazil.

Caruaru is a new line of furniture by Marcelo Rosenbaum, manufactured by Artefama Industry. Inspired by Caruauru, one of the oldest fairs in the world, the collection pays tribute to simple thoughts and authenticity, with the ability to recreate itself every day.

The collection comprises tables, easy chairs, benches, bookcases, buffets, shelves and more. Some of the items have parts made with recycled PET bottles.

Rosenbaum brings the richness of the Brazilian landscape into the home with these pieces, while drawing on the fundamental constructs and shapes of the furniture typically exposed at the fair.

Natural pinus wood is the main material used for the furniture. When the wood is coloured, it takes on interesting shades and tones of blue, yellow, grey, orange, black and green.

Brazilian designer Marcelo Rosenbaum sees the house as an element capable of increasing the self-esteem of the Brazilian people, as a place where personal memory and cultural roots have a prominent place, and as a place to include one’s own history.
