The Cape Craft & Design Institute (CCDI) promotes handmade produce in a designer world. Through its well-established programmes of product support, business support, market support and rural outreach, it assists craft producers in the Western Cape. Assistance includes access to markets, thereby stimulating individual and sector growth. The CCDI is in its 11th year of operation in the Western Cape, with over 2 500 craft enterprises on its database. The Handmade Collection, here displayed, is curated annually. The CCDI has been recognised as a best-practice model in craft sector development in Southern Africa.
