For Design Indaba's 2014 Emerging Creatives campaign, we wanted to highlight the incredible potential of this launching pad for recent graduates and designers just entering the profession. What better way to do this than showcase some star graduates of the programme?
We chose five creatives who got their lucky break as Emerging Creatives at Design Indaba Expo: knitwear designer Laduma Ngxokolo, artist Atang Tshikare, illustrator Daniel Ting Chong, accessories designer Katherine-Mary Pichulik and crafter/illustrator Lauren Fowler. We got them into the studio with photographer Andrew Brauteseth and Lauren Fowler (we like to support our own talent!), who embellished their portraits with playful doodles. They're all exemplary success stories whose talent, energy and perseverance is paying off.
