Design Indaba FilmFest Drive-In at Maiden's Cove

With the smell of sea spray and buttery popcorn in the air, Design Indaba FIlmfest 2014 kicked off with a drive-in at the spectacular Maiden's Cove in Clifton.

This year Design Indaba FilmFest, which ran from 15 February to 2 March, showcased a collection of films dedicated to the many cultures of creativity. The festival took place over ten nights at two different venues that capture both the heritage and picturesque beauty of Cape Town.

Ten films, never before seen on South African soil, where screened in two unique alfresco settings. The first venue hosted two films, screened old-school drive-in style at Maiden’s Cove in Clifton.  

The festival opened with a sceening of Sound City, David Grohl's directorial debut followed by the Oscar-winning documentary 20 Feet from Stardom that shines a spotlight on backup singers. 

Festival-goers enjoyed these brilliant cinematic works with the ocean on one side and mountains on the other making for a truly unforgettable movie-going experience.
