Illustrator Tracey-Lee Scully has always been inspired by sensuality. Creative work by Rossetti and Anaïs Nin have played a vital role in her ideas about sexuality. The aim of her illustrations is to depict women who are in touch with their sensuality – who are bold, but gentle. As a spin-off to the illustrations, Scully began the Auto-Erotic Photo-Romantic project, inspired by her travels to Berlin and the Photoautomat machines in the city. Through this project she aims to capture the energy of Berlin – 24-hour copy shops, gritty streets, graffiti, the art scene, sex clubs and its general progressive permissiveness.
