Paper love

The Antalis 2012 Art of Design Awards recognises design excellence and encourages the original and beautiful use of paper.

The 13th Antalis Art of Design competition calls on designers and creatives to use paper in an innovative and beautiful way to illustrate that “Paper loves Design”, the theme of the 2012 awards.

Launched nationally during June 2011, the Antalis Art of Design competition “aims to convince designers countrywide to love paper as much as Antalis does”. The Art of Design 2012 “Paper loves Design” entry kit consists of a beautiful black presentation box, made with love, that contains the “Paper Loves You” brochure and three of the 12 Posters of Design. The handwork on these boxes also created additional employment for artisans.

Designers are encouraged to create and enter work in the following eight categories: Corporate Identity; Annual Reports; Brochures One - Stitched/Bound; Brochures Two - Non-stitched or Folded; Cards; Digital; Open Category; Student Corporate Identity.

Innovation, creativity, suitability and whether all of the design elements are well crafted and supported by printing quality are some of the judging criteria. The 2012 Grand Prix prize includes a trip to New York worth R50 000, as well as the opportunity to design the new Art of Design theme.
