Original origami

Design Indaba Expo 2010: New to the jewellery world, Emma Stricker’s handmade jewellery label, emma anne, uses metals in original ways.

New to the jewellery world, Emma Stricker will be debuting her line of handmade jewellery, under the label emma anne, at Design Indaba Expo 2010. The pieces she designs are not only unique and intriguing, but they also push the boundaries of traditional jewellery by using metals in different ways to create jewellery that is fresh and exciting.

In her current collection, she has drawn inspiration from the art of origami, loosely translating the skill of paper folding into her design. By creating a few simple folds in metal and repeating these in various patterns, she has achieved an array of simple yet effective pieces with a structured, geometric feel. Although silver is the predominant material used in this range, select pieces also incorporate semi-precious stones and coloured resin.

Like all Stricker’s collections the jewellery is handmade and crafted with exact care and attention to detail, creating pieces that are not only beautiful but also individualist and innovative.
