With the creative vision to awaken consciousness through the re-composition and assemblage of decomposed body parts, Vitshois Mwilambwe Bondo’s work considers the negative effects of the contemporary world.
Entitled My New World, the work can be seen at Gallery Momo in Johannesburg until 30 May 2011.
This negative reflection is dominated by political, religious and ethnic conflicts, while also looking to the cross-cultural nuances that happens between people from different parts of the world.
Bondo’s images, created on canvasses, are a compilation of different body parts from different images cut from popular fashion magazines published in South Africa and abroad.
