Kitchen excellence

Patricia Urquiola designed the interiors for luxury kitchen brand Scholtès's new flagship space in London.

Luxury kitchen brand Scholtès recently approached Patricia Urquiola to design the Centre of Excellence, a space that will serve as their flagship shop in London.

The venue aims to fuse the worlds of food, design, culture and luxury by making the space one that encapsulates the tradition practicality and sophisticated technology that Scholtès stands for.

The 300 square metre Centre of Excellence is spread across two floors and arranged in themed zones, including reception, meeting rooms and demonstration space.

Iconic and modular, the Scholtès appliances are presented against a functional backdrop. Urquiola chose to make use of copper walls, stone-like textured floors and a variety of eco features.

As the space will be used for demonstrations, master classes and private dinners, the kitchen demonstration work stations can easily be moved around the space. For Urquiola flexibility was a key consideration in designing this space.
