Furniture trio

Front showcased three contemporary furniture pieces at the 2014 Stockholm Furniture Fair.

Swedish design trio Front recently showcased a number of furniture pieces at the 2014 Stockholm Furniture Fair.

Each year the Stockholm Furniture Fair welcomes visitors to the largest meeting place for Scandinavian furniture and lighting design. At this year’s event, Front showcased a lamp, lounge chair and one-of-a-kind storage system.

The Tetris storage system allows users to create their own unique piece of furniture. The modules, available in two sizes, can be mounted in either a portrait or landscape orientation. Colours, handles and legs can be varied in almost endless combinations ensuring the storage unit is able to complement a variety of living spaces and current home décor.

We want customers to be able to design their own furniture, says the trio.

The storage system can further be utilised as a desk, display cabinet or even a bookcase.

The Fog Lamp for Zero’s light source is hidden in the socket and reveals a frosted glow when switched on. The misted bulb allows for a light source that is dim and adds an ambiance to any living area.

For the Collage Lounge Chair for Gemla, Front took inspiration from the archives of the 150-year old company and is rooted in the tradition of craftsmanship which Gemla is renowned for. The chair is covered in organic sheepskin from Gotland and combines traditional and contemporary aesthetics of furniture design in a unique and eye-catching way.

These three furniture pieces drew much attention at Stockholm Furniture Fair due to their honest design materials, processes and aesthetics.
