Creative stop along Cape Town's Fan Walk

A centrally located space is drawing local and foreign soccer fans to an exhibition showcasing design in all its elements.

A disused three-storey building in Main Road, Green Point, has been given a dramatic makeover and turned into a creative and artistic hub, bringing together Cape Town’s creative community under one roof.

The Cape Creative Exhibition, which runs until 18 July 2010, has been purposefully located along the Cape Town Fan Walk to encourage soccer fans to experience the very best South African art, craft and design.

One of the main anchors of this collective creative experience is the Cape Craft & Design Institute’s annual Exhibition Collection, showcasing the best of Western Cape Handmade objects.

The centre is offering poetry readings, live music, and a coffee shop and garden in which to enjoy your treats. The Africa Centre, as part of the exhibition, is a platform for exploring contemporary Pan-African artistic practice and the Fringe Arts’ pop-up store gallery is a must-see 100% local art and design collective.

The exhibition is sponsored by the City of Cape Town and spearheaded by Indala Project.
