Clockwork Snow is a window installation by Tjep for La Rinascente department store in Milan’s Piazza Duomo. It features a winged heart as the central point of the installation with cogs attached to rods that have the appearance of snowflakes falling around the heart.
Tjep explains the installation: “Mechanical gears seem to drop from heaven like icy snowflakes, crystallising into a magical machine frozen in time. The gears represent our national world, but here they transcend the purely utilitarian to become a romantic, haunting dream.
Tjep was one of six designers invited to create a Christmas window display for the famous Italian store.
