How do the African cities of today and tomorrow sound, taste, feel and move, and how do these cities sense us in return?
This and other probing questions will be explored as part of the African Crossroads 2019: Sense The City, which will take place in Kenya this November.
African Crossroads is a participant-driven event where participants can present content, organise a workshop, exhibit an artwork, display an innovation, do a performance or share other ideas.
Hivos is looking for content proposals from people living or working in Africa. They need to be interested in exploring cutting-edge trends in art, technology, design, and entrepreneurship coming out of the continent.
This year the group will explore the diversity of African cities from a multi-sensory aspect.
The group will look at how African cities of today and tomorrow sound, taste, feel and move, and how do these cities sense us in return.
The participants in the African Crossroads 2019 will exchange and critically reflect on the most cutting-edge entrepreneurial, scientific, artistic, and technological developments anchored in African intellectual and technological traditions.
The event hopes to attract a multidisciplinary gathering of African artists, entrepreneurs, computer scientists, designers, researchers, and philosophers to exchange knowledge and to positively shape the future of African societies.
