With only five weeks to go until Design Indaba Conference 2013 kicks off, there’s much creative energy and excitement in the air.

A stellar selection of world-class speakers, all luminaries in their respective fields, will once again descend upon our shores to share their creative thoughts and endeavours with a captive audience.

Design Indaba Conference takes place in Cape Town from Wednesday 27 February to Friday 1 March 2013 at the CTICC. Tickets are selling fast so make sure you book your ticket, ensuring you access to three days of uninterrupted inspiration. Click here for booking information.

As in the past, we’re guaranteeing an inspiration-packed Conference, with speakers from a myriad creative fields and disciplines.

This is by no means the comprehensive speaker list, as there are still many more exciting speakers to be announced, but take a look at some of these highlights:

Nicholas Hlobo
Hlobo is a South African artist, fast gaining an international reputation for his experimental use of materials. He was the Standard Bank Young Artist for Visual Art 2009, and the Rolex Visual Arts Protégé for 2010/11, working with Anish Kapoor as his mentor.

John Maeda

Not only is Maeda an artist, graphic designer, computer scientist and widely respected educator, he was also named as one of the 75 most influential people of the 21st century by Esquire. His Twitter feed (@johnmaeda) enjoys similar influence, having been named one of TIME Magazine’s 140 Best Twitter Feeds of 2011.

Sir John Hegarty
Hegarty is the man that discovered Brad Pitt, brought music to the forefront in Levi’s commercials (resulting in soundtracks from seven Levi’s commercials making it onto the UK charts’ number-one slot) and coined the now-famous “Vorsprung Durch Technik” phrase for Audi.

In line with Design Indaba’s commitment to furthering the cause of creativity, the Conference will also be Simulcast to venues in Johannesburg and Durban, at a discounted rate!

As always, the Conference will also be simulcast to a second venue at the CTICC. Please note that bookings for the Cape Town Simulcast only open once the main Conference venue sells out. Keep an eye on designindaba.com, our Facebook page, Twitter feed and other communication channels for the announcement.
