Strijdom van der Merwe at Design Indabar

Land artist Strijdom van der Merwe shows how creativity can help to draw attention to and facilitate understanding of issues around climate change.

Part of the Project

At Design Indabar in Durban, land artist Strijdom van der Merwe talks about creative projects that draw attention to climate change.

Facts and figures aside, Van der Merwe argues that climate change will only make sense to people if they can see and that’s where creativity plays an important role.

Focussing particularly on projects that highlight water issues, Van der Merwe reminds us that we are only tourists on planet earth and need to reconsider our presence in nature.

Design Indabar in Durban was presented by Dube TradePort in the run up to COP17.
