Design Indaba had the pleasure of interviewing Massimo Vignelli in Cape Town recently. In this second part of the interview, he endorses the need for history, theory and criticism in the advancement of design - especially in this time of "less is more". Elaborating on how recessions awaken dull minds and spur innovation, he says that young designers today have been given a fabulous opportunity.
