Luyanda Mpahlwa talks about the social responsibilities of architects. He talks about the architectural problems highlighted by the Design Indaba 10x10 Low-cost Housing Project. The growth of shack landscapes and the congestion in these areas are some of the biggest problems around urban decay in South Africa. Mpahlwa talks about incorporating community art into buildings and helping to instill a sense of ownership among the residents in a particular community.
