Test your graphic knowledge

Are you a real graphic enthusiast? There is only one way to find out – test your knowledge in a Trivial Pursuit-like graphic design game.

So you claim to be a passionate and committed lover of graphic design. You’re familiar with all the “big names”, you can distinguish between Helvetica and Franklin Gothic and you even know who designed the London subway map.

But there’s really only one way to test whether you really are the design nerd you claim to be – with a game of design trivia!

Almost like a Trivial Pursuit for graphic designers, DESIGNerd 100+ Graphic Design Trivia is new game designed to test your graphic design general knowledge. But what makes the game rather more exceptional is that the questions weren’t simply Googled by another nerd, they were posed by real graphic heavyweights like Stefan Sagmeister and Steven Heller.

The game was devised by Kevin Finn, who asked designers to produce questions about the types of things they reckon design enthusiasts would, should or will benefit from knowing.

With a standard “question and answer” format, the game can be played in teams or as individuals. Each volume of the game contains 100 cards with questions on them. Each card has been allocated a category and a score of 1, 2 or 3 points, depending on the level of difficulty.

Each "card category", "available points" and ‘"question" must be read out loud and clear. Once a player responds the answer must also be read out loud before awarding any points for correct answers. The highest score at the end of the game wins the right to be called a true DESIGNerd.

Update: 22 July 2014

The popular design trivia game is now available as an app.

The DESIGNerd 100+ trivia series app comes in three volumes each containing 100 personal questions by a designer or design duo, plus loads of bonus questions and bite-size facts.

100+ is exclusively available through the iTunes App Store, with plans to launch an Android version later this year. Volume 1 is free; the series includes three volumes.
