Designed by DJ Stout, the 39th edition of the Pentagram Papers features signs from the homeless.

We have all seen the homeless on street corners holding hand-scrawled signs. The most basic example of graphic communication, these naked forms of self-expression are desperate, heartbreaking and, at times, even humorous. Designed by DJ Stout, the 39th edition of the Pentagram Papers features signs from the personal collection of legendary musician and writer Joe Ely. A benefit launching the publication also raised $5 000 to help feed the homeless.
