The Cratefan gets an Olympic medal makeover.

Porky Hefer's iconic Cratefan at the V&A Waterfront in Cape Town is sharing in the spirit of the 2012 London Olympic Games.

Located at the Bascule Bridge, the 12 metre high crate man, made entirely of used Coke crates has partaken in the Olympic spirit.  The Cratefan is sporting a gold medal enlivening the Olympic games and South Africa’s 3 gold medal winners, as well as supporting other athletes participating in London.

In adding a touch of gold, the Waterfront and Porky Hefer have attracted much attention and excitement to the design.
