SMS answer from Michael Wolff

Posted on March 8th 2011

Design and branding stalwart Michael Wolff answers a SMS question about his creative process, sent to the Design Indaba Conference line.

Do you find yourself starting each project with a clean slate or do you have a visual artillery stocked up waiting to be applied to the appropriate project?

I always start with a clean slate.  There is a visual artillery of course, but I pay no attention to it. I’m grateful to all the shoulders that I’ve stood on in the past, and all the inspiration they’ve brought to me, but I wipe the slate clean before I start and wait for my creativity to “kick in”.  Thank God it always does.  And it will for anyone who empties their mind.
