The annual Wasted exhibition at the Unity Gallery showed beautiful objects made from bottle tops, cigarette packet liners, computer hard drives, chip packets, ring pulls, waste paper, old cutlery and many other found objects. A range of Jozi creatives participated, including Prince of Newtown, Robyn Field, Green Footprint, Patrick Mabena, Mandy Coppes, John Alfred, AfriCan and Flip Hattingh. As the work makes clear, much of what is consigned to rubbish dumps is actually of significant utility and value, if approached with the right mindset.
