Infecting the City – the third Spier Public Arts Festival – is taking to the streets, squares and public spaces of Cape Town.


Infecting the City – the third Spier Public Arts Festival – is taking to the streets, squares and public spaces of Cape Town from 13 to 20 February. Presented by the Africa Centre and curated by Brett Bailey, this year’s festival explores the theme “Human Rite”, investigating the role of rites and rituals as tools for transformation and healing. Participants include Margie Mackay, Athina Vahla, Gilbert Douglas, Anthea Moys, Ibrahim Quraishi, Andrew Buckland, Lerato Shadi and Beezy Bailey’s Dancing Jesus statue.
