Troika’s Still Life with Timer installation considers the depiction of everyday inanimate objects.

"Still Life with Timer" is Troika’s updated contribution to the historical genre of still life, using an assemblage of electric and electronic objects, to depict the inanimate objects that characterize everyday life.

This installation is part of the Contemporary Art Society’s Outer Worlds exhibition reflecting on the perception of the “world” and how it is constantly shifting.

A magnetic “orchestra” with an Electroprobe, a magnetic microphone that uncovers a parallel “world”, highlights the user's relation to what otherwise would be nothing more than inanimate objects.

"Still Life with Timer" reveals a secret life of its own while being the perfect vehicle to create “an alternative taxonomy of objects… that of arranging the objects according to their electromagnetic tunes”.
