Shigeru Ban’s ingenious new 10-Unit System for Artek can be used to make a chair, table or bench using just one simple L-shaped unit. Befitting of the cardboard architect’s environmental policy, the system is made from UPM ProFi, an environmentally innovative wood plastic composite made from recycled paper and plastic. The sustainable material can be disposed of by incineration or recycled back into the production process.

Shigeru Ban

Shigeru Ban (born 1957 in Tokyo) is an accomplished Japanese and international architect, most famous for his innovative work with paper, particularly recycled cardboard paper tubes used to quickly and efficiently house disaster victims.
