From 13 November 2010 to 13 February 2011 the Museum Boijmans van Beuningen in Rotterdam will be presenting Hella Jongerius’s first retrospective exhibition. Hella Jongerius: Misfit will examine her working methods and experiments while also surveying her completed projects.

One of the highlights at the exhibition will be Jongerius’s collection of 300 coloured vases, titled “Series 3”. Series 3 employs an existing vase as the canvas for various other colours and patterns. This series of vases use historical mineral recipes and chemical glazes to create irregular colours. Jongerius worked in collaboration with Royal Tichelaar Makkum for this collection.
